If you have body dysmorphic disorder, you would have a preoccupation with thoughts about a particular body part that may mean you’re covering it up or changing your life to make sure that it is not seen by other people. You may spend a lot of time in the mirror trying to check that your makeup is in a particular way to hide a particular feature on your face or that your hair is hiding something or you’re dressed in a particular way. And if this becomes an overwhelming obsession or takes up a lot of time for you and controls your thoughts and your energy, then this may be becoming a problem.
